Lori Marler is a native Californian who has been in Texas long enough that her west coast relatives tell her she “talks funny” (and we all know they are the ones who talk funny). She is married to her best friend who is an unfailing supporter and her biggest fan.
Lori has loved creating things ever since she was a child. Her love for watercolor began in 2001 and is now a firmly rooted part of her soul. She is always stretching the boundaries of her knowledge of the medium by trying different techniques, using a variety of tools, papers and supplies. While the wee folk find their way into many of her paintings, Lori is not averse to trying any subject that piques her interest.
Lori’s work has been seen at the Seabrook Candle Factory and Pelatiah’s Fine Art. She has been commissioned to paint portraits of several prize winning bonsai trees by members of Sei Boku Bonsai Kai of San Mateo, California. Her work is now hanging in more than one office in Menlo Park, California. Lori’s diversity was called upon when she was commissioned to design a “Totally Texas” tattoo. Currently, Lori’s work can be seen at the Porte of Call Arts Market being held the second Saturday every month at Main and South 2nd Street in La Porte, as well as at art events in the area.
